Set it up in 30 seconds

Two speakers, one phone - no tapping between sentences.

01
Open the app, pick the two languages

Choose KO on one speaker, EN on the other. You do this once per conversation.

02
Place it between you, and talk

Speak naturally. The app notices which side is talking and flips direction itself.

03
Show it - or play it

The other person reads the bilingual screen, or taps a line to hear it spoken.

Real translations, right in the app

Live bilingual captions as people talk, plus a saved transcript you can edit.

Korean levels, English moods

What the translation engine actually watches between these two languages.

01
One word gets you served: 주세요

주세요 covers the coffee, the ticket and the size question. No grammar to switch mid-order.

아이스 아메리카노 한 잔 주세요. → One iced americano, please.
02
Friend-tone 반말 maps to casual English

그래요, 좋아요 becomes 'yeah, sounds good' - loose, but not sloppy.

그래요, 좋아요. → Yeah, sounds good.
03
-나요? is the traveler's question ending

이 근처에 ... 있나요? is the everyday 'is there ...?' - and English hears it the same way.

이 근처에 카페가 있나요? → Is there a café around here?

Why it beats tapping a translation box

Same order, same counter - but nobody types and nobody waits for a turn to pass.

01
No per-sentence tapping

Set once, then the app follows whoever speaks. Direction is decided by the voice, not by a button.

02
Live captions, saved transcript

Each line shows as it is spoken and stays in the transcript, ready to edit, copy or share after.

03
Read it aloud for the other person

Tap a line on the screen and the phone reads it, so the other side hears their own language too.

What it does - and what it doesn't

Straight answers beat surprises: the boundaries here are the real app's boundaries.

What it does
✓Two-sided live conversations, one phone
✓Both directions, no manual switching
✓Transcripts you can edit, copy and share
✓Read-aloud buttons on every line
What it doesn't
✕Camera or photo translation

Try this: Read the text out loud - Felo translates the sound instead.

✕Offline translation packs

Try this: Keep the app open on Wi-Fi or a data plan.

✕Handwriting or keyboard input

Try this: Press the mic and speak; text stays for reviewing the transcript.

Real reviews from live two-way conversations. Names kept as posted.

“Translation accuracy is high, but the best part is the microphone: many apps lose sentences or need the phone pressed to your mouth. Felo takes in a full sentence easily.”

Frequently asked questions

Is Felo's Korean to English translator free?

Yes, Felo is free to try on iOS and Android. Time-based plans, such as a 2-hour plan valid for 30 days, are shown on the App Store or Google Play subscription page.

Can it translate English to Korean back to English in one call?

Yes. Set one speaker to Korean and the other to English; Felo translates each sentence into the other language and keeps the whole exchange in order, including names and numbers.

Does it understand Korean slang, since it is speech translation, not text?

It is trained on spoken Korean, so common casual speech is usually fine. Very new slang or heavy Gyeongsang/Jeju dialects may come out more literally - check the transcript and it is easy to re-speak.

Can I use it in a Korean restaurant or shop in Seoul?

Yes. It works on the same 16-language engine as Felo's other scenes - point the phone at the table and order in Korean, or have the staff answer and hear it in English.

How polite is the Korean output?

The engine generally keeps the level of the speaker. Most interactions land in 해요체 - polite without being formal; if you need 합니다체, speak formally and check the transcript.

Does the translation need the internet?

Yes. Live voice translation uses the network; there are no offline packs. Install the app and confirm the languages before you arrive.

Who is a Korean to English translator for?

Travelers around Seoul and Busan, K-beauty and K-food fans, Korean speakers working with English clients, and English speakers meeting Korean colleagues or family - anyone who wants a live two-way conversation without a phone tap-a-thon.

Will numbers and addresses survive the round trip?

Usually. Along with money and train timetables, numbers are kept across the translation; it still helps to have the address written down when taking a cab.

Can it help me talk to older Koreans who speak in dialect?

Standard Seoul Korean is the safest register. If an older speaker uses dialect, the transcript usually keeps the meaning even when the wording sounds local - and you can re-read it or re-speak in plain Korean.
